Why use the Leas Lift?

Coastal Park & Amphitheater 

 

 

Turn right at the lower station and you will find yourself at the childrens activity park within minutes, which will keep them amused for hours.

 

There is an amphitheater here where concerts and plays are performed on balmy summers nights. 

 

The "Mermaid Cafe" is also found here on the sea front so there is no excuse for not treating yourself to an ice cream

 

 

A stroll along the Leas

 

What could be more relaxing than a stroll along The Leas taking in the beautiful flower beds which seem to stretch forever.  Here you will find "The Burlington Hotel" and Folkestones premier venue to the stars "The Leas Cliff Hall" Check out their site to see whats on and when.

 

Eventually have a cream tea in "The Grand" tea rooms while taking advantage of their many art shows and antique fairs.

 

 

The Harbour & Fish Market

 

Leaving the lower station and turning left will lead you to "The Grand Burstin Hotel" and Folkestones quaint  old fish market.  Here you will find stalls where you can buy the freshest fish or a pint of cockles and mussels and sit on the sea wall and enjoy them in the open air.

 

If fine dining is your choice, then it's here you will find Folkestones award winning restaurant "Rock Salt".

 

Sometimes you just can't beat a lap full of fish and chips while watching the boats at sea.... But watch out for the greedy seagulls.

The Town Center

 

A short walk down Cheriton Place will take you to Folkestones busy town center. A vibrant pedestrianized shopping precinct with all the usual big name stores and attractive pubs and bars like "The British Lion" and "The Chambers".  If you are bathing on the beach and you fancy a quick bite there is a "McDonalds" and a "KFC" almost opposite the upper station.

 

If you are finding that parking is a problem in the town, we take care of that too.  There is an abundance of parking spaces opposite the lower station... So park and ride.
